The curved model also features fully adjustable seat. The lift is powered by a battery that can keep it working even through a power failure. (During normal operations, the battery is actually charged automatically. These charging stations are located at the top and bottom and are usually optional on intermediate landings.)

The on-board controls are for soft starts and smooth stop operations. It is easy to use and can control the device while in other rooms. The seat swivels, and locks into position for safe boarding and de-boarding. The seat belt is fully retractable when not in use.

There is another safety device built into the lift: the over-speed governor and the obstruction sensors. When the machine encounters an object or any other obstruction in its way, either way up or down, it automatically stops the stair lift. Like most Savaria products, it has a reliable rack and pinion drive, besides running on twin steer tube rail construction.
